Bruxism

Correcting excessive teeth grinding and jaw clenching.

What is Bruxism?

Bruxism is the term used for excessive teeth grinding and jaw clenching, which can ultimately lead to facial pain and headaches.

Botox injections targeting the masseter muscle can be an effective treatment lasting six months. The Botox weakens the masticatory muscle, reducing the muscles ability to clench and grind the jaw. These injections are carefully placed by Dr Band to ensure normal functions such as chewing, talking and smiling are unaffected.

This technique can also be utilised to create a more aesthetic appearance for the jaw by achieving a v-shape if desired.

Masseter

Botox can be injected into the masseter muscle to reduce its size and prevent clenching. It is a popular treatment for people who suffer from bruxism, or teeth grinding. Botox can also be used to improve the appearance of the lower face by reducing the size of the masseter muscle.
